Edison Police on Lookout for Drunk Drivers This Holiday Season
The extra patrols start this weekend, department announces Wednesday.

Edison Township, NJ - Starting this weekend and continuing into the new year, Edison Township police officers will be especially vigilant for drunk or impaired drivers, the department announced Wednesday.
Township officers will be conducting saturation patrols and random sobriety checkpoints for drivers who may be driving while under the influence. Edison has received a $5,000 grant from the N.J. Division of Highway Traffic Safety to participate in the annual enforcement effort.
Edison is also hosting a holiday house decorating contest this weekend. The township is accepting applications from participants through Friday, Dec. 16th for Edison's 8th Annual Holiday House Decorating Contest.

Judging, based on on originality and creativity, will occur take place Dec. 20-22. Owners of the top three best homes will win gift cards to area restaurants. Applications are available at the Stelton Community Center, 328 Plainfield Ave., the Minnie B. Veal Community Center, 1070 Grove Ave. or the Recreation Department's main office in Edison Town Hall.
