Escape the Ordinary @ the Woodbridge Library!

WOODBRIDGE LIBRARY SUMMER READING CLUB FOR ADULTS

All readers over 18 are invited to participate in the library’s adult summer reading club from June 22 through August 14. Escape the Ordinary is the theme, but you are free to read anything you like, write reviews, enter to win weekly prizes (plus a Grand Prize-an IPAD Mini!) and meet your fellow readers at a series of programs at the Main Library.

Programs at Main include on June 24th Tales of the Weird and Strange in New Jersey, a presentation about the oddities and peculiarities that make our state so intriguing. We’ll also be hosting Lorna and Phil Wooldridge, who will present a program on Gravestone Art and Symbolism, including discussing the iconography of Trinity and First Presbyterian cemeteries (July 7th). On August 8, members of New Jersey Paranormal will share information about their research and investigations of local unexplained phenomena. On Friday afternoons Escape the Ordinary with our special Foreign Film Festival. Scheduled films include Pan’s Labyrinth, Jet Li’s Fearless, City of God, and three more exciting films for your viewing pleasure. These free films will be shown on Fridays @ 2pm in the Main Library’s 1st Floor Meeting Room.

To participate in the club, come into the Main Library or any of our branches any time we’re open, and ask at the Information Desk for a registration packet, which will tell you everything you need to know about the club. And don’t forget to come to our August 14th gala closing event from 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. for a party, plus Book/CD/DVD Swap, complete with refreshments and a door prize for one lucky attendee!
