On May 5, the EARTH Center, home to Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County will host a Garden Season Kick-Off and Plant Sale from 10 am to 5 pm in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Avenue, South Brunswick. This event is an opportunity for gardeners to get information needed for a successful garden and purchase starter plants. The event will take place rain or shine.
Participants can consult with Master Gardeners on garden plans and any related horticultural issues. Take home literature such as university fact sheets will be available. Middlesex County’s Agricultural Agent will be on hand too. The enormous selection of plants for sale includes heirloom tomatoes, unusual varieties of perennials and annuals, flowering vines, ornamental grasses and dozens of herbs and vegetables. Consider bringing a wagon or cart to transport purchases.
