The Far Hills Race Meeting, New Jersey’s most prestigious steeplechase horse racing event is celebrating its 91st running October 22 -- rain or shine -- at Mooreland Farms in Far Hills. Up to 50,000 spectators are expected to attend.
Many New Jersey businesses have been attending the event for over 20 years. Local businesses interested in vendor opportunites can click here to download an application. The deadline for filing an application is October 12.
The thoroughbred racing event is not only a longstanding tradition at Moorland Farms but serves as a fundraiser. Since the 1950s, more than $17 million has been contributed to the Somerset Medical Center in Somerville from proceeds of the steeplechase race.

Trains run continuously from Hoboken and all stations on the Gladstone line on race day. Visit www.njtransit.com or call 800-772-2222.
NJ Transit will operate additional trains on the day of the race.
There is a $30 fee for parking. Admission and parking tickets may be purchased now through October 21. General admission tickets on event day may only be purchased at the gate for $100.
Avoid traffic congestion and arrive early. Gates open at 8:00 a.m.
Directions
Traveling from Route 78: Take Exit 29 to Route 287 North to Exit 22B (Route 202/206 North). Bear right at Route 202 North and proceed to Moorland Farms entrance.
Traveling from Bernardsville via Route 202 South: at railroad tracks in Far Hills, proceed straight ahead to Moorland Farms entrance.
Traveling from the south via Route 287: take Exit 22B. Turn right onto Route 202/206 North. Bear right onto Route 202 North and proceed to Moorland Farms entrance.
Traveling from the north via Route 287: take Exit 22 to Route 202/206 North. Bear right onto Route 202 North and proceed to Moorland Farms entrance.
Traveling from Chester/Peapack area via Route 206 South: turn left onto Pottersville Road (County 512) to Main Street in Gladstone. Turn right onto Main Street and follow into Far Hills. Turn left onto Route 202 North and proceed to Moorland Farms entrance.
Traveling from Basking Ridge and Liberty Corner via Liberty Corner Road: proceed north on Liberty Corner Road. Turn left at intersection of Liberty Corner Road and Route 202. Proceed to Moorland Farms entrance on left.
