The Central Jersey Boy Scouts of America will host a Stride For Scouting 1K and 5K Run/Walk November 25 at the John E. Toolan Kiddie Keep Well Camp located in Roosevelt Park at 35 Roosevelt Drive in Edison (next to the Menlo Park Mall). The marathon is aimed at promoting scouting to both boys and girls. The event is open to both scouts and non-scouts.
Awards will be presented in the 5K Run to the top three scouts and the top three non-scouts. Registration starts at 8 am and the 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:50 am. The 1K Run/Walk begins at 9 am.
The pre-registration cost of the 1K Run is $10 for children ages 18 and younger. Children ages five and younger are free. Pre-registration costs for the 5K Run are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 18 and younger.
There will be drawstring backpacks given away free to the first 40 participants who register. Race shirts will be given to every participant.
