Operantics, a Middlesex County-based light opera company will be staging the production “Feathers, Flirting and Far Away Places” at the Sayreville Main Street Theatre Company on June 15 and June 16. The theater is located in Parlin.
Featuring musical selections from Broadway musicals, operettas, and operas based in exotic locales, the performances will include area theater favorites Jessica Mennella and dancer/choreographer Molly Balseiro, a professional company of classical singers, cellist James Celestino, narrators Steve and Marc Suznovich, a children's chorus and more, accompanied by accomplished pianist Martin Néron. Leigh Simonini will act as tour guide.
Among the scenes to be performed are excerpts from Candide, Hansel and Gretel, West Side Story, Follies, Oklahoma, Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, Pearl Fishers and Carmen. This performace will be Operantics’ fifth production and is once again directed by Amy Suznovich and Janette Goleme. The producers are Janette Goleme, Amy Suznovich and Lester Gesteland.

Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors/students, $12 for children. These performances will serve a a fundraiser for the Sayreville Main Street Theatre Company.
