Take Your Children to the Edison Memorial Tower

The Edison Memorial Tower built in 1937 in honor of Thomas Alva Edison, the famous inventor, is holding a craft event for children ages 5 to 12. The tower is currently under renovation and is expected to reopen within a few months, according to the website http://www.menloparkmuseum.org. A museum, built in 1947, is also on site.

Children will learn about the history of the site as well as the resoration process taking place as they participate in a craft project at the location. Pre-registration is required. A small fee is also required. Sessions for children ages 5 to 8 will be held July 26 and August 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For children ages 9 to 12, sessions will take place July 27 and August 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The Edison Memorial Tower Corporation, a nonprofit group coordinating restoration efforts and site tours, will also be scheduling day and evening sessions for adults.
