Rt. 9 In Sayreville Closed Due To Fuel Tanker Accident

All lanes of Rt. 9 South in Sayreville are currently closed. Hazmat is on the scene.

Sayreville, NJ - All lanes of Rt. 9 south in Sayreville are closed, Sayreville police said, due to an accident involving a fuel fuel tanker, which is actively leaking 8,700 gallons of fuel onto the roadway.

The fuel tanker accident occurred at about 12:20 p.m. Friday on Rt. 9 South at Rt. 35 in Sayreville.

Hazmat crews are on the scene now.
