Fundraiser Held In Woodbridge For Area Food Banks

Almost 600 people came to a Woodbridge bowling alley last week to raise funds for more than two dozen area food banks.
According to a news release from the office of Assemblyman Craig J. Coughlin, D-19:
Coughlin partnered with the Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation and Middlesex Water Company to hold the 6th Annual “Bowl for Hunger” Thursday at Majestic Lanes in the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge.

Since the annual fundraiser began in 2010, more than $119,000 has been raised for area foods banks.
This year, almost 600 bowlers participating in the Bowl for Hunger, up from 350 bowlers last year.

Assemblyman Coughlin, Michael D’Agnes, President and CEO of Raritan Bay Medical Center, and Dennis Doll, President and CEO of the Middlesex Water Company said they wanted to thank the participants and sponsors for their support of the area’s 28 food banks.
Pledges and donations are still coming in, but this year’s bowl is expected to raise about $25,000.
A final tally will be announced within a few weeks, and anyone who is still interested in donating can call the Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation at 732-324-5374.
