The Gateway Family YMCA Celebrates Anniversary of Branch Charter

The Gateway Family YMCA proudly announces the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the charter for the Five Points Branch in Union, NJ.
The YMCA branch in Union was established by The Kenilworth, Roselle Park and Union organizing committees, and was chartered by the National Council of YMCA’s in 1966. At that time, YMCA programs and events were located in an enclosed pavilion at the Five Points intersection in Union, prior to the current location at 201 Tucker Avenue.
While the branch charter was intentionally established in 1966, The Gateway Family YMCA had a long-standing presence in the surrounding community, providing programs and services in Hillside, Kenilworth, Linden, Roselle, Roselle Park and Union on YMCA historical records dating back to 1959.
