The Gateway Family YMCA Names Chief Financial Officer

Michael Klidas Named Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Chief Grants Officer

The Gateway Family YMCA has named Michael Klidas as its new Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Chief Grants Officer, effective October 11, 2021. Selected by The Gateway Family YMCA following an extensive search, Klidas will succeed Dennis J. McNany following his retirement from YMCA service. In his new role, Michael Klidas will serve on the CEO’s senior leadership team and will be responsible for financial matters, investments, grants, business operations and community relationships.

“Michael was selected for this role based on his vast experience and record of service. We are excited to welcome him to The Gateway Family YMCA team and look forward to future financial growth and community impact under his leadership,” stated Krystal R. Canady, CEO, The Gateway Family YMCA.

Klidas joins The Gateway Family YMCA from The Jewish Association for Services for the Aged in New York City, where he spent the last several years as Vice President of Finance. Immediately preceding, he was Chief Financial Officer at RiseBoro Community Partnership in Brooklyn, New York. In both organizations, Klidas was responsible for the financial management of multi-faceted divisions that included housing, social services, community development, and managing large government contracts.

Earlier positions include Director of Government Contracts and an Associate Executive Director at the YMCA of Greater New York for ten years of service. “Michael maintained an affinity for the YMCA and was thrilled when our opportunity came about to support the YMCA and its mission once again,” stated Melynda A. Mileski, EVP, Chief Operating Officer, The Gateway Family YMCA.

Serving the community since 1900, The Gateway Family YMCA has grown to be the 5th largest YMCA in the State of New Jersey. Prior to the pandemic, The Gateway Family YMCA served approximately 25,000 members yearly through six YMCA branches. YMCA programs and services include extensive residential housing and social services, child care, WISE adult social services, chronic disease management and traditional YMCA programming.
