WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Woodbridge for 2023.

Woodbridge's fireworks will be held on July 3 this year, as always at Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park. Raindate is July 5.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday, July 3. There will be live music from two bands. No reserved seating and no alcoholic beverages. The Woodbridge Township Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks display draws thousands of residents to the Sewaren waterfront and is an extraordinary celebration of place and country. The renowned Pyrotecnico Fireworks present a world-class pyrotechnics display with more than 30 thousand shots fired electronically by computers in synchronization to a wide selection of patriotic and contemporary music.

The incredible "Bringing the Night to Life” fireworks display choreographed to music gets underway at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.) - the fireworks will be simulcast on 95.1 WOLD radio. Local band Blame It On Richie kicks off the musical entertainment followed by the AM Gold Yacht Rock Party on stage before and after the fireworks display.

Alvin P. Williams Park will be closed during the day to allow for the fireworks set-up. The gates open to the public at 4:00 pm. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are encouraged. There is no reserved seating and no alcoholic beverages are permitted in the park. Woodbridge Police Traffic Alert for Monday, July 3:

At the conclusion of the fireworks, all traffic will exit Sewaren via Ferry Street (by Moby Dick’s) and will be directed to make a left turn onto State Street. Traffic will not be permitted to make a right turn onto West Avenue towards Woodbridge. State Street traffic into Perth Amboy will be prohibited from turning right onto Maurer Road (hole in the wall) that separates the Chevron property. Traffic will be diverted down West Ave./State Street onto Route 440, to Amboy Avenue, back into Woodbridge.
