Author Maryam Malik of Woodbridge, a speech-language pathology major at Kean, to host a book signing for her debut paranormal romance novel.

UNION, N.J. – Author Maryam Malik of Woodbridge, N.J., a speech-language pathology major at Kean University, will host a book signing for her debut novel, Charlotte’s Secrets: Demon’s Love, on Thursday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at Kean’s Barnes & Noble bookstore, located at 1000 Morris Ave. in Union, N.J. The event is free and open to the public.
“Charlotte’s Secrets is a paranormal romance at its core that takes readers on a journey alongside Julian, the novel’s protagonist, who faces impossible odds in the fight for everything he loves and believes. It is a story about hope and courage; about strength and never giving up even when it seems like you’ve lost the only things worth living for,” said Malik of her first published work.
In addition to discussing Charlotte’s Secrets, Malik will share her journey as a young writer and provide insight into the world of publishing. She will provide tips on the writing process, including how to write an effective query letter, as well as advice on searching for agents. Aspiring writers will learn how Malik got her novel in the hands of readers, so they too can become published authors.

“The journey has been challenging, so publishing the first book in what will become a trilogy is a huge accomplishment, both personally and professionally,” said Malik, who aspires to eventually be on the New York Times bestsellers list. “I’m excited to share my experience with others in hopes that my story inspires others to follow their dreams, regardless of the challenges they face along the way.”
The first two chapters of Charlotte’s Secrets is available, for free, online at www.authormaryammalik.com. The full novel can be purchased in person at Barnes & Noble or online, as an e-book or in print, at major book retailers.
