Movies @ Main: Ladies Take the Lead
On March 4 the Woodbridge Main Library will begin a new film series in honor of Women’s History Month. These films are scheduled to be shown on Fridays at 2pm and they will highlight the vast variety of women’s experiences and roles. The first movie is Lucy, a science fiction action film starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman. On March 11, we will screen Pitch Perfect, a musical comedy about a collegiate all-girl singing group with Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. March 18 will feature Pitch Perfect 2, the continuing saga of the all-girl singing group, the Barden Bellas as they compete on the international stage. Ricki and the Flash, a comedy/drama with Meryl Streep as a former rock star dealing with her family, will be shown on April 1, followed by Trainwreck, a popular comedy starring Amy Schumer and Bill Hader on April 8. Sicario, a crime action thriller starring Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin will be shown on April 15. The series concludes on April 29 with Suffragette, a British historical drama focusing on the early 20th century efforts of British women to gain the right to vote.
