Learn to act at Dragonfly classes and camp

Metuchen, NJ -- Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center is expanding its educational programs. In addition to offering acting classes this spring for kids and adults, Dragonfly will be holding a summer theatre camp in August. ACTING FOR KIDS: theatre games, improv, and scene practice for kids in grades 3-6. Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 pm, beginning March 10. $100.

ADULT ACTING & IMPROV: an acting class in which adults can hone their skills while having fun. The class will include improv, scene study, monologue work, audition techniques, and public speaking. Fridays from 7:30-8:30 pm beginning March 11. $100.

DRAGONFLY SUMMER THEATRE CAMP: For the first time, Dragonfly will offer a summer theatre camp for kids grades 3-8. While this is the first year for the camp at Dragonfly, it will be run by Dragonfly’s Artistic Director Catherine LaMoreaux, who has led summer theatre programs for other organizations. Catherine is NJ-certified to teach Elementary Education, Theatre Arts, and English. The camp will include theatre games, improv, theatre design, playwriting, filmmaking, and production. The program will culminate with a performance for family and friends. The camp will be held at the Metuchen Reformed Church, 150 Lake Avenue from August 8-19—Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. The cost for the two-week session is $500 and a spot may be reserved through the Dragonfly web site at DragonflyArtsNJ.com.
