List Of Fines For Illegal Boarding, Multi-Family Homes In Woodbridge
Woodbridge property owners who fail to comply with regulations have been ordered to pay significant fines and court courts, officials said.

Woodbridge has a “Quality-of-Life” Code Enforcement Task Force Inspection Program that targets illegal multi-family residential boarding homes and apartments, property maintenance violations, and the illegal posting of advertising signs, according to a news release from the township.
Woodbridge property owners who have failed to comply with township regulations have been ordered to pay significant fines and court courts by the Woodbridge Municipal Court judge, according to a news release from Mayor John E. McCormac.

Here’s some data from the township about the notices issued by the task force:
- January to June 2015: 51 Notices of Violation, charging property-owners with operating illegal boarding homes and/or multi-family dwellings
- January to June 2015: 240 Notices of Violations for trash, debris and related property violations
- 2014: 72 Notices of Violation charging property-owners with operating illegal boarding homes and/or multi-family dwellings
- 2014: 451 Notices of Violations for trash, debris and related property violations.
Here’s a list of some recent cases, in which fines have been imposed, according to the township:

- $10,000 fine and court costs against the owner of an illegal multi-family boarding house/apartment at 533 Route 27, Iselin;
- $7,500 fine and court costs against the owner of an illegal multi-family boarding home at 55 Magnolia Road, Iselin;
- $2,000 fine and court costs against each of two owners for operating an illegal rooming/boarding home at 65 Cutters Dock Road, Woodbridge;
- $1,500 fine and court costs against the owner of an illegal rooming/boarding home at 1594 Oak Tree Road, Iselin;
- $1,000 fine and court costs for an illegal multi-family dwelling at 29 Apollo Ave., Avenel;
- $1,000 fine and court costs for an illegal multi-family dwelling at 40 Loretta Street, Hopelawn.
Residents can report “Quality of Life” violations to the Bureau of Housing at 732-634-4500 ext. 6009. All complaints will be investigated and all information will remain confidential.
