Live Irish Music Weds Night in Carteret

7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Thomas J. Deverin Community Center, 100 Cooke Ave. in Carteret.

CARTERET, NJ - In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, Middlesex County invites you to experience a program of traditional Irish music and dance. Whether you’re Irish or just moved by the spirit of the season, these performances are sure to put you in a holiday mood.

Round The House Band will headline the event. Bagpipers and drummers from the Patrick Torphy Pipe and Drum Band and the DeNogla-Ardmore Academy of Irish Dance will round out the performance.

The event is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Thomas J. Deverin Community Center, 100 Cooke Ave. in Carteret. The program is offered free of charge but registration is required. Register by 2 p.m.Wednesday, March 15 by calling 732-745-4489. To register online, send an email toculturalandheritage@co.middlesex.nj.us.

“This event honoring traditional Irish culture is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day,” said Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “I hope many residents will attend this special event.”

In case of inclement weather, call 732-296-8966. An Assistive Listening System will be in use during the program. An American Sign Language Interpreter can be provided with a two-week advance request.

Funding for the “St. Patrick’s Day Show” has been provided in part by the Middlesex County Office of Culture & Heritage, Folklife Program for New Jersey, Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/ Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
