WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A 21-year-old man died in a house fire in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out in a single-family home on the 80 block of South Inman Avenue. The Avenel Fire Department first got the call of the fire at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, said Avenel Fire Official Cory Spillar.
Initial reports said the family was trapped in the home, but the family was actually all able to exit via a back door before firefighters got there, said Spillar. Everyone made it out with the exception of the 21-year-old man.
