Memorial Day Weekend In Woodbridge: Entire Schedule Of Events

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Memorial Day is always a big deal in Woodbridge, and here is the schedule of all the services and events happening in town this weekend:

Friday, May 27:

State Sen. Joseph F. Vitale, NJ Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin and Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez will host a Memorial Day Commemoration at the Woodbridge Community Center at 10:00 a.m. 100 Main Street. All welcome.

Sunday, May 29:

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla will hold a Memorial Day service at the Sewaren boat launch at 648 Cliff Road, Sewaren at 9:00 a.m.

Colonia VFW Post #6061 will host a Memorial Day service at noon at the Post headquarters located at 606 Inman Avenue, Colonia. Following the services, the Colonia VFW will host a Memorial Day Barbeque. $25 per person (children under 10 free). For tickets call the VFW Post #6061 at 732-574-9783

Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day):

Keasbey Fire Company #1 will hold a Memorial Day service at the Keasbey War Memorial Monument Park (foot of Edison Bridge on Smith Street) at 8:00 a.m. on Mon., May 30. Breakfast to follow at the Keasbey Firehouse located at 420 Smith Street, Keasbey.

Port Reading Fire, EMS and Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Service (Mon., May 30) at 9:00 a.m. at the Port Reading Firehouse located at 916 West Avenue, Port Reading.

Woodbridge VFW Post 4410 will host a Memorial Day Service (Mon., May 30) at 10:00 a.m. at the Woodbridge VFW located at 393 Pearl Street, Woodbridge.

Avenel VFW Memorial Post #7164 will conduct a Memorial Day service (Mon., May 30) at 10:00 a.m. at the Post Headquarters located at 60 West Park Avenue, Avenel.

Woodbridge American Legion Post #87 will host a Memorial Day Service (Mon., May 30) at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post #87 located at 314 Berry Street, Woodbridge.

Fords VFW Memorial Post #6090 will conduct a Memorial Day (Mon., May 30) Flag-Raising service at 11:00 a.m. at the Fords War Memorial Monument located at King George Road and Corrielle Street in Fords.

Bishop Elias Lorenzo will honor America’s fallen heroes during a Memorial Day Mass at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia at 11 a.m. Monday. This marks the Archdiocese of Newark’s return to celebrating Memorial Day Masses at its cemeteries after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Iselin VFW Memorial Post #2636 will host a Memorial Day Service (Mon., May 30)at 11:00 a.m. at the VFW Memorial located outside Post Headquarters on Auth Avenue in Iselin. Refreshments provided after the service.
