Mercedes-Benz G55​ Stolen At Gunpoint From Woodbridge Autobody Shop

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — There was a violent car theft in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge last week, a town spokesman confirmed.

A 2014 Mercedes-Benz G55 was stolen from MP Built Speed exotic car shop on Port Reading Avenue.

The car belonged to a customer of the shop and was being worked on.

A man came into the shop at 8 p.m., shortly after dark, last Thursday, Sept. 29, wearing a ski mask, dark clothes and with a handgun. He threatened the shop owner at gunpoint, hit the owner in the face with the gun and then drove off in the luxury car, said the town spokesman.

This was first reported in Tap Into Woodbridge, but confirmed by Woodbridge officials. The car was later recovered, with damage, in Linden.
