Metuchen The Setting For Tribeca Film Festival Hit

"Blame," the runaway hit of the Tribeca Film Festival, was filmed on location at Metuchen High School.

METUCHEN, NJ — "Blame," the runaway hit of the Tribeca Film Festival, and also shown at the Montclair Film festival, is coming to Metuchen for one night only this month. "Blame" was written, produced, directed and starred in by Metuchen native Quinn Shephard. It was filmed on location in Metuchen High School and at homes throughout Middlesex County's brainy borough."

A screening of "Blame" will be Friday, June 23 at 7 p.m. at Metuchen High School. Shephard grew up in Metuchen, went to Metuchen High School and started writing the movie when she was 15. Now 22, she is the youngest female filmmaker to be featured at Tribeca and her film has received critical acclaim.

Chris Messina stars as a substitute drama teacher whose taboo relationship with an unstable student (Quinn Shephard) strikes a nerve in her jealous classmate (Nadia Alexander), sparking a vengeful chain of events within their suburban high school that draws parallels to Arthur Miller's "The Crucible."

There will be a Q&A after the film, and an after-party at Cai’s Café (420 Main Street).

Pricing:

  • General admission: $20
  • General admission student/senior tickets (standard seating): $15
  • VIP tickets: $50 – limited quantity, includes reserved priority seating and complimentary BLAME after party at Cai’s immediately following the screening. Party is open to all ages (please bring ID because alcohol will be served)
