Metuchen's David Copperfield Tops List Of World's Richest Magicians

METUCHEN, NJ-- Metuchen native and world renowned performer David Copperfield has topped Forbes list of world's highest-paid magicians. Over the past year, he's turned a disappearing quarter into a cool $64 million dollars.

In addition to his long running show at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Copperfield puts on private performances, tours and concerts. All-in-all, Forbes says he's worth $800 million, making him the richest magician in history.

Those who lived in Metuchen in the 1960s might remember Copperfield as "Davino the Boy Magician," who would put on shows in the neighborhood for friends. He graduated from Metuchen High School in 1974.
