Middlesex County Now Tests Asymptomatic In Edison, New Brunswick

NJ is rapidly expanding testing to the asymptomatic: The PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel and Paramus site are also now testing asymptomatic.

EDISON, NJ —Beginning this Wednesday, May 20 Middlesex County will now open COVID-19 testing to both symptomatic and asymptomatic residents at its Edison drive-thru testing site and the A.C. Redshaw Elementary School site in New Brunswick.

Even if you don't have any symptoms of coronavirus, you can still get tested. However, this is still only open to Middlesex County residents. The testing is done through the Rutgers-invented saliva test, the only kind of test that's offered at both sites.

The Edison drive-through test site is located at the Kilmer Motor Vehicle Commission Vehicle Inspection Center, 33 Kilmer Road, Edison. Walk-up testing is done at New Brunswick Testing (A.C. Redshaw Elementary School, 216 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick). The Edison site is drive through; the New Brunswick site is walk up.

They are able to test the asymptomatic because both test sites are no longer flooded with people, said Gov. Phil Murphy.

"We were consistently not maxing out of late at either PNC or Bergen Community," Murphy said, according to NorthJersey.com. "So this is a chance for us to dip our toe in the water."
