Middlesex Water Company Warns of Impostor Employees

Middlesex Water Company alerts customers as people posing as water utility personnel have burglarized homes

Middlesex Water Company is warning customers to be on alert for individuals posing as water company employees.

The company recently learned of several incidents, where impostors will gain entry to a customer’s home by claiming they are an employee sent to check water quality or meter piping, according to Bernadette Sohler, Vice President of Corporate Affairs. After granting the impostor entry to their home, the customer will often find they have been burglarized while they assume the individual, or individuals, performs their stated task.

The Middlesex Water Company is urging customers to be wary of any company representatives looking to gain entry into their home and to check for company name, identification and to contact Middlesex Water to verify the individual’s employment before letting them into your home by dialing 800-549-3802.
