Movies @ Main: Strange Bedfellows & Unlikely Companions
Join us for a free movie every Friday at the Woodbridge Main Library!

On January 5 the Woodbridge Main Library will begin a Winter Film Series scheduled Friday afternoons at 2 PM that will highlight fascinating, clashing partners and unlikely alliances. The first movie is Mr Holmes, a mystery, with Ian McKellen portraying an aging Sherlock Holmes who solves his last crime with the help of his housekeeper’s young son. On January 12, we will screen The Intern, a comedy with Robert De Niro playing a seventy-year-old widower who decides to become an intern at a fashion website. January 19 will feature Everybody Loves Somebody, a romantic comedy from Mexico, focusing on a successful gynecologist with a troubled love life. Beatriz at Dinner, a comedy-drama about a holistic healer who clashes with a selfish billionaire at a dinner party, will be shown on January 26, followed by The Big Sick, a romance inspired by the real life relationship between Pakistan-born comedian Kumail Nanjiani and American grad student Emily Gardner will be shown on February 2. On February 9 we will present The Hitman’s Bodyguard, an action comedy with Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gary Oldman. Our series continues with Home Again, a romantic comedy about a 40-year-old divorcee who opens her house to three young, male filmmakers, on February 16. Finally, the series concludes on February 23 with Victoria and Abdul, a film depicting the relationship between a lowly Indian clerk and Queen Victoria.
