Name of Boy Killed by Carbon Monoxide Leak Released
The names of the 9-year-old boy killed by carbon monoxide poisoning in Linden, and his 10-year-old sister, clinging to life, are released.

Linden, NJ - The names of the 9-year-old boy killed by carbon monoxide poisoning Tuesday in Linden, and his 10-year-old sister, who is barely clinging to life, have been released.
Oshiobugie Asekomhe, 9, has been identified as the boy, and his sister is Emike Asekomhe, 10, Linden police told NJ.com. The boy was a third-grader at School No. 4 in Linden, where grief counselors will be on staff all week.
The children's mother, Sepiatu Abu, 45, found her children unresponsive in their bedroom at 1157 Passaic Ave. at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. She called 911 to report that neither child was breathing, and that she had tried CPR on them.

The girl was rushed to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in extremely critical condition, while the boy was rushed to Trinitas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The girl remains at Newark Beth Israel 'extremely critical condition' Wednesday, Linden police Capt. James Sarnicki told NJ.com.
There were high levels of carbon monoxide in the children's bedroom, and the home had a carbon monoxide detector, but the batteries were old.
