No jail time for an Old Bridge public employee who admitted he accessed his colleague's retirement fund just minutes after she died.

Old Bridge, NJ - It's probation, and no jail time, for an Old Bridge public employee who admitted he accessed his colleague's retirement fund just minutes after learning she died in a car crash.

Dennis Lordi, an Old Bridge Township resident, admitted earlier this year to stealing more than $135,000 from a colleague’s retirement fund just minutes after she died in a car crash. He was sentenced Friday to two years' probation, a suspended, 364-day jail stint and mental health counseling, reports MyCentralJersey.com.

Lordi and the woman worked together as public employees the Somerset County Superior Court. Lordi, 60, said he received information his colleague, Donna Dilullo, was in a car crash, then accessed the victim’s deferred compensation/retirement account through Prudential, pretended to be Dilullo, and transferred $135,517 into his own account.
