Police Arrest Trucker Driving With Stolen Trailer, Cops Say
Police say the trailer portion of the tractor-trailer was reported stolen from Carteret in May.

Police arrested a Georgia man who they say was behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer, whose tractor was unregistered and whose trailer was stolen.
According to a news release from Port Authority Police Department spokesman Joseph Pentangelo:
Around 9 a.m. Wednesday, on the New York side of the Goethals bridge toll plaza, Port Authority Police Officer Ed Benenati arrested Garfield Barrows, 57, of Henry County, Georgia.

Barrows was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Driving with a Suspended License.
Port Authority police stopped him for improper plates, but then after they checked the vehicle, they determined the trailer portion of the truck had reported stolen on May 30 from PMK Trucking in Carteret.

The tractor portion of the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured.
The truck was impounded.
