Possible Woodbridge Mailbox Theft, Police Say
Someone may be fishing items out of the blue USPS mailboxes around town, police say. A resident in Fords first reported it.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge police say they've gotten a report from a resident that checks may have been stolen out of a blue U.S. Postal Service mailbox, so they are now asking all Township residents to be alert.
Woodbridge police say they've only gotten one report about this and it came from a resident in the Fords area. The man said he mailed two bills out on two separate occasions, and put them in a blue postal drop-off box. Neither one made it to their destination, yet both were apparently cashed at unknown locations.
The victim believes that the bills were taken after he placed them in the blue mailbox. While police cannot confirm that, there have been reports of towns in northern New Jersey, such as Englewood and Fort Lee, that have had mailbox theft, police said. In those instances, the suspects used a rope and something sticky to fish out items from mailboxes.
