Rahway Man Hid In Dumpster From Linden Police, Cops Say

LINDEN, NJ — Linden police arrested this man Monday, Nov. 20 after they say he burglarized an apartment building in Linden. Police say the man hid in a nearby Dumpster after the break-in.

Linden police were called to an apartment building on the 1100 block of W. St. George Avenue for a reported burglary at 9:30 a.m. Monday. A man wanted in questioning fled the scene when confronted by police. He was located hiding in a nearby dumpster a short while later.

Charles Flowers, 53, was charged with third-degree attempted burglary, fourth-degree obstruction, and fourth-degree hindering. He was remanded to the Union County Jail pending an appearance in Superior Court.

This incident, along with a number of similar crimes in the area, remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Linden Police Detective Bureau at (908) 474-8537.
