Remedies from the Kitchen
Local food historian Judith Krall-Russo will present Remedies from the Kitchen @ the Main Library!
Join local food historian and tea specialist Judith Krall-Russo on Tuesday, October 13 @ 7 pm at the Woodbridge Main Library for Remedies from the Kitchen. In this free program she will explore some of the history and folklore of various home cures. Long before pharmacies existed people concocted their own remedies for everything from coughs and sore throats to hiccups, and hangovers. Ms. Krall-Russo will discuss how our ancestors relied mainly on everyday foods that could be found in the kitchen or garden such as honey, spices, onions, garlic, and herbs to heal themselves.
Some of the information you will learn in this presentation is practical, some will be humorous and some will be downright bizarre.
Please also note that this workshop is not meant to take the place of your medical practitioner’s advice.
