Reminder: Free Rabies Clinic For Woodbridge Pets This Week

Woodbridge Township will offer free rabies inoculations for dogs and cats next week.

The township will also offer pet micro-chipping for $25.

The rabies clinic, sponsored by the township’s Department of Health & Human Services - Animal Control Division, will be held Monday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza, next to the Main Library and Woodbridge High School.

According to a township news release:

The township requires dogs and cats five-months-old and older to be inoculated.

Pet licenses, proof of prior rabies inoculation and and spay/neuter certificates must be presented at the clinic - except for first-time pet inoculations.

Pet licenses may also be purchased at the rabies clinic. Fees are:

  • Dogs: $18 (non-spayed/neutered); $15 (spayed/neutered)
  • Cats: $23 (non-spayed/neutered); $13 (spayed/neutered)
  • There is a reduced fee for senior citizen pet owners

South Amboy and Roselle Park residents are also eligible to participate in the free rabies clinic. There is a $10 fee if the pet is not licensed.

The township will also offer a micro-chip clinic from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at the health center. Veterinarians from the Woodbridge Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center will handle micro-chipping. The $25 fee includes micro-chip, administration and lifetime pet i.d., and registration with Home Again, the national pet recovery database.

All pets must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a closed carrier.
