Taxi Hits 3 Linden Teens, Police Say

The girls were not critically injured, but they were taken to Newark University Hospital as a precaution.

LINDEN, NJ — A yellow taxi cab struck three teenage girls in Linden Wednesday night, Linden police said. The girls were not critically injured, but they were taken to Newark University Hospital as a precaution.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria traveling north on Park Avenue hit the three girls as they were crossing Park Avenue at Elizabeth Avenue, police said. The girls are all from Linden and their ages are 15, 18 and 19. They were treated at the scene by Linden Fire Department personnel and transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the yellow cab, a 55-old Roselle man, was issued a summons for careless driving and released.
