Vehicles Must Be Moved From Snow Emergency Routes In Woodbridge

A local ordinance requires snow and ice to be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours after the end of a storm.

Woodbridge officials are reminding residents and business owners that vehicles must be removed from streets that have been designated as Snow Emergency Routes.

A list of all the snow emergency streets is available on the township’s website.

Those parking restrictions will stay in effect until plowing operations are complete.

Residents should not push snow into plowed streets, and a local ordinance requires property owners to remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 24 hours after the end of a storm, officials said in news release.

Officials are also asking residents to clear snow from fire hydrants near their homes.

The recycling pickup scheduled for Thursday for District 4, Zone 1 to 14 – Colonia, Iselin and Avenel – will begin at midnight Wednesday. Officials ask that residents bring recycling cans in as soon as possible after that pickup to allow for better plowing.

Recycling pick-up for District 5 will take place as scheduled on Friday.
