Walking Tour Of Woodbridge To Be Held

"The Old Neighborhood: A Walking Tour of Woodbridge" is part of the township's celebration of National Historic Preservation Month.

The Historical Association of Woodbridge Township and the Woodbridge Township Heritage Tourism Project will hold a walking tour of the township on Sunday.

“The Old Neighborhood: A Walking Tour of Woodbridge” is part of the township’s celebration of National Historic Preservation Month.

The tour will begin and end at The Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Avenue, according to a township news release.

Tour participants will visit two historic sites during the tour. The tour runs from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., but organizers are asking participants to arrive at noon.

Pre-registration is preferred; day-of-tour registration is subject to availability. Tour tickets are $5 per person and nonrefundable. Parking is available on site.

The tour is part of the Heritage Tourism Assessment and Interpretive Plan, a project of Woodbridge Township. This project has been funded in part by a grant from the Garden State Historic Preservation Trust Fund, which is administered by the New Jersey Historic Trust, State of New Jersey.

Members of the Heritage Tourism Project Steering Committee members include: Dr. Dolores Gioffre and Cynthia Knight, co-chairs; Daniel D’Arcy, Kathy Keating, Audrey LaPenta, Ryan Michelson, Brenda Velasco, Wendi Rottweiler, and Caroline Ehrlich.
