New Jersey Senior Olympics kick off Friday, with over 1,200 senior athletes from all over the State plus many from around the country competing all over Woodbridge Township until Sunday afternoon.
Singer Mark Mayer is at Curtains Restaurant at 7 p.m. Friday and Johnny Apollo is there Saturday at 7:00 PM.

There is a Bird Walk at Oros Park in Avenel Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. and The Ugly Pancake Comedy Special is at the Avenel Performing Arts Center Saturday night at 8:00 PM.
The Township’s annual 911 ceremony is Sunday at 1:00 p.m. on the stage at the Joseph R. Lewis Concert Field at Woodbridge High School. Please join us as we recognize the nine Woodbridge residents who passed away that fateful day while honoring all of our first responders who risked their lives to help save others.

Sunday is also a car wash at the Evergreen Senior Center on Inman Avenue from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM benefitting the Colonia High School girls’ soccer teams.
The Best of the Eagles makeup concert is Tuesday at 7:30 PM, the B Street Band covering Bruce Springsteen is Wednesday at 7:30 PM and Kandace Spring is appearing in Jazz Thursdays at 7:00 PM. All shows are on the Lewis Field.
The Colonia Country Club has a Luau fundraiser on Fri., Sept. 16 at 6:00 PM to benefit the town’s Domestic Violence Response Team.
Next Saturday is the Woodbridge High School track field dedication to Henry Chomicki at 10:00 a.m. along with the St. James Street Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the Hispanic Heritage Festival from noon to 5:00 p.m., both on Main Street. Curtains is hosting a Hispanic Night after the festival starting at 7:00 PM and the Danny Mixon Quartet is playing great jazz music at the Avenel Performing Arts Center starting at 8:00 PM.
Next Sunday the 18th is our annual Bike Tour of Woodbridge starting at 8:00 AM from the Woodbridge Community Center and also the Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Festival at 1:00 PM on the Lewis Field sponsored by the American Irish Association of Woodbridge with music, games, food and refreshments.
