WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Looking for something to do on a winter weekend? From Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac's Friday end-of-week report, here is what's planned in Woodbridge Twp. over the next few days:

The Children’s Clothes Closet is open Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge.

Relay-for-Life Woodbridge has a First Lap ceremony Saturday at noon at Woodbridge High School with a walk around the track to kick off their 2023 campaign.

On Monday, the John F. Kennedy High School Marching Band will get 10 percent of the proceeds at Applebee’s in Woodbridge Center from 11:00 - 9 p.m. So if you eat at the Woodbridge Applebee's Monday, you will be supporting the JFK High School marching band.

The Woodbridge Library has a virtual program “A Parent’s Guide on How to Pay for College” on Thurs., Jan. 12 day at 7:00 p.m. Call 732-634-4500 or log-on to woodbridgelibrary.org for details.

The Township’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. tribute is back to being live on Mon., Jan. 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the Acacia Youth Center at 95 Port Reading Avenue, which is the former Hungarian Club.

Girl Scout Cookie sales start next weekend all over town.

The Club at Woodbridge and the Woodbridge Community Center have waived joiner’s fees for January, "so buy cookies and then work it off," said McCormac.

Our Recreation Department’s youth basketball league for boys and girls from kindergarten through high school kicks off next week with 106 teams and over 1,100 kids in games played all over town. Thanks to Bobby Timinski and the Rec. leaders and all of the parents who agreed to coach. This is the most kids we have ever had playing winter hoops.

Our Have-A-Heart food drive kicks off in January and you can drop off food at Town Hall, the Community Center or the Health Center or mail a monetary donation to the Mayor’s Office at 1 Main Street.
