Windows Smashed, Airbags Stolen From Cars In Woodbridge

Police say the airbags can be sold on the black market, and they are urging residents to report suspicious activity immediately.

Police say airbags were stolen from four cars in Woodbridge, and authorities believe the motive for the crime is black market sales.

Police are urging residents to be alert for suspicious activity and immediately report it to authorities.

The cars were parked on Cheryl Drive in the Iselin section of town, according to a news release from Capt. Roy Hoppock.

According to the news release:

The driver’s side or rear passenger windows were smashed and the airbags were stolen between 10 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

The cars were all Hondas: a 2013 Civic, a 2013 Accord, a 2007 Civic and a 2010 Civic.

The airbags can be sold on the black market.

Police said the average cost of replacement is about $700, although the exact cost depends on the year and model of the vehicle.
