WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A woman died March 14 while walking on Amboy Avenue in Woodbridge, after she was hit by a car.
The woman was struck at 5:08 a.m. March 14.
Carmen Cruz, 62, a Newark resident, was walking north on Amboy Avenue when she was hit by a Chevy Equinox that was headed north on that road. She was hit near the intersection of Bergen Street.

Cruz was rushed to Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy where she died of her injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. He was not found to be impaired or speeding. Woodbridge Police say Cruz was walking in the roadway when she was hit. No charges or summonses were filed against him.
