Woodbridge Exhausts Its First Round Of Vaccine Doses; More Coming

Woodbridge will exhaust its original delivery of 1,000 coronavirus vaccine doses by Wednesday; the town will get 300 more this week.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge Twp. will exhaust its original delivery of 1,000 coronavirus vaccine doses by Wednesday, according to Mayor John McCormac.

The town expects to get 300 more doses this week, along with 500 of the second doses for everyone who was inoculated on December 28 and 29, he said.

Woodbridge has been giving out the vaccine shots at the Woodbridge Health Center to anyone who lives or works in Woodbridge and is part of category 1a (healthcare workers, police and firefighters) and 1b (people over 65 and those between 16 and 64 with specific medical conditions).

You can register for a vaccine with Woodbridge Township by calling 732-726-6264. If they are not there, you can leave a voicemail and someone will call you back.

Also, just on Jan. 20, Middlesex County announced it is opening up six new vaccine sites. This is in addition to the vaccine mega-site in Edison that opened last Friday. The six new sites are:

  • East Brunswick Community Arts Center
  • Monroe Township Senior Center
  • The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center in New Brunswick
  • Middlesex County Office of Health Services in Piscataway
  • Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville
  • Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School in Perth Amboy

These new sites will be open strictly based on vaccine supply to Middlesex County. For any questions or if you cannot register online, call Middlesex County’s Call Center at 732-745-3100.

Middlesex County is giving out the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines. Says the county: Registrants of the vaccine will not have the option to select the vaccine-maker of their choice; vaccines are strictly predicated on supply provided by the federal government.
