Woodbridge Forecast: Sunny, With A Chance Of Flip-Flops

Consider it an appetizer.

After what has seemed like unending days of cold weather and precipitation, there’s a taste of summer coming this weekend. We just have to get through the rain on Friday.

The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures in the mid-70s on Saturday, with abundant sunshine -- the kind of day that will have people breaking out the shorts and flip-flops and heading to the beach.

But like an appetizer before the main meal, Saturday’s beautiful weather is going to give way to a return of the chill and clouds on Sunday. Take heart, however: Memorial Day weekend is just five weeks away.

Here’s an expanded look at the weather for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and into early next week:

Friday

Midnight-6 a.m.: 54 degrees, showers.

6 a.m.-noon: 63 degrees, showers.

Noon-6 p.m.: 69 degrees.

6 p.m.-midnight: 68 degrees.

Saturday

Midnight-6 a.m.: 61 degrees.

6 a.m.-noon: Temperatures rising to 71 degrees.

Noon-6 p.m.: High reaches 75 degrees.

6 p.m.-midnight: Temperatures fall to about 50 degrees.

Sunday

Temperatures will fall to about 47 degrees degrees early Sunday, but the daytime high will be around 60.

Monday

Rain possible. Lows around 55 degrees. High near 57.
