Woodbridge Hosts Halloween 'Hauntings & Spooktacular' Events

Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac and the Woodbridge Township Department of Recreation announced a township-wide line-up of Halloween ‘happenings’ and ‘spooktacular’ spectacles guaranteed to keep Woodbridge ‘Ghosts and Goblins’ of all ages in the Halloween spirit.

McCormac noted that Woodbridge – New Jersey’s oldest Township – is Halloween ‘central’ with events and happenings for one-and-all. The Woodbridge Halloween ‘spooktacular’ gets underway onThurs., Oct. 23 with “Stuff Your Own Scarecrow” at Parker Press Park from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. We supply the hay... you bring old clothes and create your own scarecrow.

“Trunk-or-Treat” & “Halloween Costume Contest” is set for Sun., Oct. 26 from 1:30 – 3:30 P.M. at the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC). Show off your Halloween costume while “Trunk-or-Treating” Prizes for funniest, scariest and most original costume. After “Trunk or Treating” pick-up a FREE pumpkin and go to work creating a Halloween “Pumpkin Painting” Masterpiece.

The “Halloween Drive-In Movie” is showing “Haunted Mansion” on Sun., Oct. 26 at the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC) parking lot. FREE movie starts at Dusk. Come early and play mini-golf at Skyline Mini Golf – the area’s best mini-golf course. Wrap-Up “Haunted Woodbridge” Halloween on Thurs., Oct. 30 with the annual “Halloween Hay Ride & Family Fun Festival” at Parker Press Park from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. But, beware of the Ghosts & Goblins along the way.

Woodbridge Halloween fun continues with the annual Woodbridge High School “Haunted House” (proceeds benefit the WHS Chorus) on Fri., Oct. 24 and Sat., Oct. 25. Experience your worst “Fears, Phobias & Superstitions” at the “Haunted House” – located in the scary old (and most likely haunted) building at 1500 Rahway Avenue (across from the State Prison). “Happy Haunted House” (lights on) for youngsters is open from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. The real scary “Haunted House” is open from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M. Tickets: $10.00 (adults) and $5.00 (children under 12 years of age.) Call 732-602-8634 for the scary details
