Woodbridge Installed 4-Way Stop At N. Washington/Bedford Aves.

Woodbridge Police and the town engineering department determined a four-way "Stop" was needed due to frequent car crashes there:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — At their Aug. 23 meeting, the Woodbridge town Council approved the installation of a multi-way (four-way) stop sign at the intersection of N. Washington Avenue at Bedford Avenue.

The stops signs are already installed and operational.

Woodbridge Police and the town engineering department determined a four-way "Stop" sign was needed there due to the frequent number of motor vehicle accidents in the last three and half years at the intersection.

The Council unanimously agreed to install the four-way stop, after an engineering study was done on that intersection. The study was completed on June 6.

"The Township of Woodbridge has experienced for a number of years a high crashes volume of motorists failing to yield or obey the "Stop" sign at the intersection of N. Washington Avenue and Bedford Avenue. From 2019-2022, 12 motor vehicle accidents (MVA) have been reported. This engineering study was conducted to investigate and recommends solution that could improve traffic safety at that intersection."
