Woodbridge Man Charged With Murder
Vito Nigro, 42, of Devon Road in the Colonia section of town, has been charged with murder of Giorgina Nigro, authorities said.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a Woodbridge woman who was found dead Wednesday in her home.
Vito Nigro, 42, of Devon Road has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the death of Giorgina Nigro.
Authorities said the couple shared the home in the Colonia section of town, but their martial status was unclear Thursday.

Autopsy results from the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office show the victim died from blunt force and sharp force trauma, according to a news release from Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Robert Hubner, the director of the Woodbridge Police Department.

The investigation began Wednesday when police were called to the couple’s home.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:01 a.m.
Vito Nigro was charged after an investigation by Woodbridge Detective Andrew Kondracki and Detective Craig Marchak of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Bail for the defendant was set at $750,000. He is being held at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, listed in stable condition.
