Woodbridge Mayor’s Health Expo This Saturday
The health fair is a great chance for Woodbridge residents to get their cholesterol checked, prostrate blood, Hep B/C and thyroid tests.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac and the Department of Health & Human Services will host the Mayor’s Health Expo this Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza.
At the health expo, you can obtain free or reduced-cost health screening tests. Health Expo screenings include: Blood pressure, eye and foot screening; glucose and cholesterol screening and body mass index screening.
There is a minimal fee and required pre-registration for the comprehensive blood screening and total cholesterol check; prostrate blood screening; Hepatitis B and C immunity tests, and tests for thyroid function T-3 and T-4, C-reactive protein and THS (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone).

Health Expo visitors will also find information on numerous health-related topics including Social Security, Medicare, pharmacy assistance, substance abuse, domestic violence and more. Local healthcare providers and medical assistance agencies will be on-hand to provide information on health-care products, services and programs.

Also on Sunday, Oct. 20 the Woodbridge mayor and council will host Woodbridge Community Day at 11:30 a.m. at the Woodbridge Community Center. This event recognizes 50 community volunteers and presents the 2019 Mayor’s Community Volunteer Award for distinguished community service.
Those who will be honored are Woodbridge residents who help fellow residents and neighbors in countless ways each and every day — volunteer service that includes church and community, student tutoring, athletic coaches, hospital aides, senior resident assistance, clothing and food drive coordinators, first aid and fire squad members, serving and assisting area homeless, participating in the annual Tooling Around the Township home repair program, and many more community service endeavors and programs.
