Woodbridge Native On 'The Voice,' Talk To Her Online Saturday

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - Did you know? A young woman who was born and raised in Woodbridge, NJ was a finalist on the most recent season of "The Voice." Ali Caldwell, who was on Team Miley (Cyrus), now lives in Brooklyn but she was raised in Woodbridge Township, where she grew up listening to artists like Brandy, Beyonce and Faith Evans. She skipped college to join Xhale, a three-person R&B group that has opened for Boyz II Men and played for Patti LaBelle at her tribute concert.

Since then, Ali, 28, has toured in Russia and gotten rave reviews from the likes of Tyler Perry, who said he saw her sing at an open mic night at the Village Underground in Manhattan. Ali also performs in New Jersey, such as a recent show she did at Taste Lounge in Newark on April 8. Her musical style has been compared to R&B singer Jill Scott.

On "The Voice," Ali was coached by Miley Cyrus. While she didn't win, she did make it to the top eight contestants on season 11.
