Woodbridge Police Say Remains Of Missing Man Have Been Found

The body of Edward Wortman, 34, was found in a heavily wooded area off of Water Street in the Colonia section of Woodbridge.

The remains of a Woodbridge man who had been missing since October have been found, police said.

The body of Edward Wortman, 34, of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, was found in a heavily wooded area off of Water Street in Colonia, according to a news release from Capt. Roy Hoppock.

When Wortman was reported missing by his wife on Oct. 26, authorities said he left behind his identification, wallet and personal belongings, and was considered an endangered missing person.

A New Jersey State Police forensic anthropologist used dental records to positively identified the body, police said.

Hoppock said the investigation is continuing. Wortman’s cause of death has not yet been determined, and police said no other information was immediately available.
