Woodbridge Promotes 2 Fire Captains; Hires 5 New Firefighters

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Last Wednesday, January 24, the Woodbridge Fire Department held a ceremony for two newly promoted officers and five appointed firefighters.

Captains Michael Geiger and Michael Walsh, along with firefighters Michael Coman, Kyle Eidson, Timothy Meehan, Alexander Reyes and Juan Velez took their oaths in front of family, friends and fellow fire service members.

They vowed to render full service to District #1.

Commissioner John Kenny said: "As our District continues to grow and expand, so does the need for first responders to aid and protect its residents. By hiring and promoting personnel, Woodbridge Fire continues the efforts to ensure the safety and protection of the community, while also increasing safety for firefighters on scene during an emergency."

Kenny is also the Board President of the Woodbridge Fire Department Board of Fire Commissioners.

"It is always a proud moment when officers and firefighters begin their new roles in our department," he continued. "On behalf of myself and my fellow Board members, we wish them all much success and look forward to them having long and safe careers here in Woodbridge.”
