Woodbridge St. Patrick's Day Parade 2016: Everything You Need to Know

The Woodbridge St. Patrick's Day Parade is the largest St. Patrick's Day festival in Central New Jersey!

Woodbridge, NJ - Are you going? The Woodbridge St. Patrick's Day Parade is a big deal in town, and is the largest St. Patrick’s Day festival in Central New Jersey.

The parade, now in its 43rd year, will be Sunday, March 13. The parade starts at 1:30 p.m. from Woodbridge High School. From there it moves to Freeman Street, onto Linden Avenue, to Amboy Ave. (Rt. 35) to Main Street and concludes in front of Town Hall. It always gets crowded, so make sure you get there early to get a good spot.

This Sunday there will be more than 80 different groups marching, including traditional Irish pipe bands and step dancers. There will also be Irish-themed parade floats and displays, marching bands representing all three Woodbridge Township high schools, representatives from Township fire departments, first aid and emergency response squads, members of Woodbridge scouting organizations and community, civic, sports, and neighborhood associations.

Asbury Park will also hold their big St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 13 as well. South Amboy will hold their St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday.

Earlier on Sunday, at 9 a.m., there will be the raising of the Irish Flag at Town Hall. The Woodbridge St. Patrick's Day is sponsored by the American Irish Association of Woodbridge. This year, the American Irish Association honors Jack Wall as Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade; Pat Nixon as Irish Woman of the Year; Ed McSherry as Irish Man of the Year; Kylie Cahill as Miss American Irish; and Brianne Carey Dowd as the Irish Lady-in-Waiting.
