The Woodbridge Town Mayor or Just The Town Bully?
In his pursuit to transform Woodbridge (and most of the rest of the township as well) into one massive apartment complexes, Mayor John McCormac and his cohorts have turned to using 'Eminent Domain' to acquire properties owned buy small businesses and some poor senior home owners.
Aside from two businesses on Amboy Avenue, between Ross and N. James Streets (one just recently built), McCormac is trying to intice ( read: scare) two female senior citizens into selling their homes to him. He needs their lands for a multi-level parking garage. A garage the that will bring a great increase in traffic to the Ross Street school and James Street areas.

A copy of McCormac's letters to one senior woman, a woman who's home has been in her family for three generations, shows how McCormac, in my opinion, is using his position as Mayor to 'BULLY' this lady by twisting her financial difficulties like a knife in her side.
In McCormac's letter, dated April 16, 2018, to Mary Gibson, another senior life resident in our Township, McCormac claims he needs to discuss her property and how it relates to school projects,

The other letters come from McCormac's well paid (about $375k/yr in legal services to the township) friend also shows how the MacMachine operates.
It is particularly interesting to note how the dollar amount the township is offering one home owners is redacted. ( Both the Appraiser and the Appraisal are unknown).
As can be seen in one of the lawyer's letters, there is a statement saying the township would give the owner a 'life lesse', no rent and no property taxes for that duration, should the owner be willing to sell the property to the township. Alternatively, the township would be willing to move the owner's in senior housing, at taxpayer's expense.
It is certainly interesting (if not illegal) that McCormac and his cohorts profess, in writing, their ability to "jump" that family ahead of all the other seniors waiting on the senior housing list! Another interesting statement made in McCormac letter to one home owner related to the BOE's plans needs for property in that area.
What makes that commentary so interesting is that both the BOE and the McCormac Administration have confirmed, in their respective OPRA response, that there has been no writings between then regarding the BOE's needs for property in that area.
Are not the things that go on in the "Land of MacBelieve" truly mystifying and, to many minds, outrageous!
Please call the Mayor (732-602-6015) or text the Mayor's office and every member of his Town Council, and tell them how you feel about the MacMachine intimating senior home owners over this obvious land grab, a ploy which will benefit McCormac's developers, but certainly not the good citizen of Woodbridge.
